Read in passing...
This book offers insight into some Parisian kitchens, its fun and might spur an idea or two. But this book will not have any surprises for cooks who have tried french cuisine.
If you enjoy duck take this home and make it a best friend!
I have made several of the duck dishes and they are relatively fast, delicious and impressive to present to even the most discerning guests! Its 2009 and still divine - and lovely short stories throughout that made me giggle -he makes you feel that you are having personal conversations with passionate Parisians. Thanks Michael for many tasty meals at home! My family and friends have joyfully discovered you as a result of your great taste!
Good, dependable recipes for the home cook
Michael Roberts' "Parisian Home Cooking" is truly that - good, dependable recipes for the home cook. The ingredients are, for the most part, easily obtained and the directions simple to follow. My personal favorite is the Seven-Hour Leg of Lamb [which takes about 4 hours] - it's the world's tenderest and most flavorful. But take a look at the Whole Roasted Cauliflower with Vinaigrette, the Upside Down Tomato Tart, and his Flourless Chocolate Cake. It's a goldmine of simple, tasty meals.
