Shalom on the range
This is a great cookbook! My wife and I have tried a number of different recipes and have been pleased with them all.
Being originally from the Denver Area It was a delight for me to find a Jewish cookbook from that area.
Nitty-Gritty About This Book
Handsome, ring-bound book with glossy pictorial covers. 310 pp, two-tone illustrations. Index.
First printing is from 1997.
Over 350 kitchen-tested recipes. High altitude baking, Jewish holiday menus, everyday kosher foods, appetizers, brunch, lower fat substitutions, and a special Passover section.
Excellent collection
My aunt gifted me this book and I love it! I have many Jewish family members but am not familiar with their recipes. This book includes many traditional kosher dishes but also mainstream ones -- and all are reliably delicious. Has one of the best banana bread recipes (with rum) ever, it has become one of my signature dishes. Also helpful if you need to avoid dairy, eggs for nutritional reasons.
