Excellent Book for Widows. As I read all the
stories of other widows, it made me feel good.
This helped me to understand my emotions.
For The Young
The second part of the title, "How Young Widows And Widowers Cope and Heal" is in small type on the cover of the book and I didn't see it before I bought the book.
Although this book has several suggestions on how to deal with the death of a spouse or partner, it is definately for younger people who have very different problems and solutions in order to recover from the loss of a loved one.
I also thought the book was shallow. For the most part it merely reiterates conversations from recovery groups. Actually going to a recovery group will do much more for you than reading this book.
"How To Deal With The Loss Of A Love" and "Bad Things Happen To Good People" are much better.
I'm Grieving as Fast as I Can
An excellent book for a new widow(er), young or older. The author's opening statement re: a man drowning and what you would do,not just tell him to give you a call, really grabs the reader. As a widow you hear, give me a call if I can do anything, all the time.
This book gives validation to all the feelings the widow is having and ideas of how to get to the next step...be it day, hour or minute. Family members and friends should read this too.
