Poorly photographed diagrams
Photographed diagrams do not clearly show folding sequence. Difficult to impossible to follow.

An Okay Origami Book
I have been folding origami on and off for about twenty years. I bought "Origami 1-2-3" because it looked as if it had some new things in it that I had never done before. That is true, however, my skills are really too advanced to make any constant use out of this book. The folds within noted by the author to be the "most difficult" are for the most part not hard for anyone who has significant experience with the art of origami. This was disappointing and has sent me looking for new books quite sooner than I was hoping. I was attracted to the photographs of the origami folds as opposed to diagrams that you find in most books. In some cases the photographs are really helpful, but in other cases it is more confusing. In some diagrams the folds change from one photo to the next with no explanation of how to get from point A to point B. Even for the simplest of folds, this is very confusing. On the plus side, this book helped me to relearn some rudamentary skills after being out of origami practice for a while. I also learned a few new tricks that I did not know before. Some of the traditional folds included are really fun for kids. However I would only recommend this book to the person with little to no experience in the art of origami.
Buy Another Book
I really didn't like this book. I found the instructions difficult to follow. Sometimes I became extremely frustrated with the directions. Perhaps the problem with this book lies in the photos of the models. Diagrams, instead of the photos, would have made the models easier to make. I recommend another Origami book name "Essential Origami" by Steve and Megumi Biddle.
