Origami Quilts: Suitable for Framing
In this volume, Fuse-san offers a nice addition to her boxes and kusudama. You can frame these lovely models and enjoy them on your walls! The models range from easy to very challenging. The instructions are pretty easy to follow--usual Fuse fun. If you're already a fan of Fuse-san, you'll love adding this beautiful book to your collection. If you're considering trying big-kid origami, Fuse-san is your friend!
Not sure of a use for these quilts
Out of all Tomoko Fuse's books that I have, this is probably the most disappointing. I guess most of the problem is that I just can't see a use for Origami Quilts. The Kusudama Origami can be hung up, the boxes (Origami Boxes and Fabulous Origami Boxes) can be given as gifts and used to hold things, but the quilts?
As usual, I find the instructions easy to follow and you can create some great looking quilts. Just not sure what to do with them!
beautiful and easy
After making a lot of kusudamas i think it's a pleasure to make origami quilts! Not more three-D objects. Making origami quilt is easy. There are 40 colour photographs. I very loved and maked from a squares "Double Crosses + Crosses" (both sides are very pretty), "Four-Petaled Flowers + Half Crosses 1-B" (look wonderful but it's not easy to understand how to join!), "Flower Crosses + Crosses & Others"(by Mihoko Kittaka, these flowers are style) and "Drops".Sometimes you need a SQUARE (Crosses, Crosses + Squares, Double Crosses + Joints, Crosses + Joints), but sometimes you need an EQUILATERAL triangle (Trefoils, Triangles with Slits or HEXAGONS (Hexagons with outside pleats + Triangles with Slits,Hexagons with inside pleats + Triangles with Slits). There are figures maked from PENTAGONS or ISOSCELES Triangles also.I found of Windmills and Hydrangeas. Very beautiful!
