I would not recommend this book. I found it over the top, and to much information to process.
From my experience - considered the best review text for certified general
After consultation with many teachers, the state appraisal board, and also other appraisers this was hands down the most recommended text for reviewing the certified general exam. I did feel the text was valuable in preparing for the certified general exam. I was told that the state exam was also prepared by the same author(s). There does need to be some updating particulary in the USPAP section because USPAP has changed significantly. When I took my state exam, there was a question about the departure rule, which had been retired at the time of the exam, so I suppose both the text and the exam need updating. There were also some flat out wrong answers in the review text. I had logged them at one point with the intention of bringing it to the publisher's attention but decided it was a waste of my time. At the time of my exam study (mid 2007) there were limited online and inclass review sources (that I could find) for the certified general exam so in my opinion that makes this text more valuable.
