One of the best series I have ever read
I read everything, love stories, mysteries, futuristic, historical, action and light mystery, this series has it all.
Great story, but lots of typos
This was a great story line with lovable characters. Very imaginative, entertaining, and steamy. However, there were a lot of typos....where there should be a "th" there were "m's" instead and a lot of missing punctuation marks. Not sure if this was only on the Kindle version, but it was distracting and confusing in some places. Please check your editing (or formatting if it is a Kindle thing).
If you have to read it, use the library copy.
The never ending book; it took several tries to make it to the end. The characters felt more like caricatures, there wasn't any chemistry, I wonder how it got published. I noticed lots of other people felt "heat" from the book but it left me feeling cold. Strangest still, because I love reading books with unbelievable plots, this one was so poorly done I couldn't buy into the story line, if felt stupid.
The book got lots of great reviews, so if you just have to read it please get the library's copy and try it before you buy it.
The story is about a therapist who hasn't had sex in years. Her best friend is a tarot card reader. They met at Tulane (Tulane a step down from Harvard, I wonder how many Harvard grads are reading tarot cards on the street. Note she isn't even reading them in a store, no, she was able to spend a small fortune (and I do mean fortune) on a college education but now works on a street corner.
This tarot reader is of gypsy lineage (ok, right) and just happens upon an ancient manuscript in a used book store. I've been going to used book stores for years and have yet to find an ancient manuscript lost among the books, I've even frequented the used book stores in the New Orleans french Quarter (books setting)and although there are lots of esoteric books there even they know that a centuries old manuscripts are worth a fortune and not tossed in with the regular books. A spell is found for a love slave they decide to do the spell...blah, blah, blah. I suppose if it was well written I could have bought into it but it wasn't and I didn't.
I still can't believe a book about a love slave didn't get me hot and bothered, that really bites.
