Another great Carpathian read!
Pretty much loved all the characters in Dark Fire. Darius is absolutely sensual & yummy! Can't help but love these strong,sexy,handsome,attentive alpha male types. Can't wait to read about Barrack & Syndil getting together. All in all, a fun book to read. Some reviews are just too serious and these books are all about NON serious sexy fun!
Disappointing and poorly written
After the good reviews for this series and this title, I was truly disappointed. I forced myself to get through half of it to give it a chance, but I will not finish it. The point of view in this book is so unstable that I don't believe the author is familiar with the concept. About three pages into any book on romance writing the reader is cautioned against "headhopping." Ms Feehan has not read any of these books. We can be in two characters heads in the same paragraph. And two more in the next. Oh, and get this: we have a "the eagles are coming" moment in this book. Sigh. And a "warm cave in the bowels of the earth" behind a waterfall. With sparkly diamonds in the walls and hundreds of candles that he left there just knowing he'd need them? Purple prose, repetition, too stupid to live heroine, cliches, this book can provide it all.
Carpathian Series
Other than an overuse of "Chisled and Sculpted" features in all romance books, This story line rocks. Emily was right, "There is no Frigate like a book to take us Lands away" (Dickinson)
