Greatest resource book on linings ever!
I have always wanted to line my clothing but no one lines their clothing anymore right?
Wrong!
WELL MADE CLOTHING IS ALWAYS LINED!
All my favorite skirts /slacks/jackets are lined ( in ready to wear) and it is ALWAYS the most comfortable way to go,,,it adds that adds the extra panache to a piece of clothing.
I swore that when I started to sew again, yes, I would make children's clothing and nicer T tops for everyone in my family,,,,,,,,but, my main goal was to make jackets ,slacks , skirts all lined tailored clothing for me and my husband.
In fact his Christmas gift will be a cashmere coat that frankly, I could not afford for him if I wasn't sewing it myself.
Lining DOES make a difference and this book teaches you how to do it right.
If I could give it 10 stars I would. This is a very important book to have in your sewing library but,,I never paid what they are asking for it on this site.
Bet I paid all of 10$ for it,,,, so look around or check it out of your local library.
There is a very good knitting book that is at my library but they want almost 200$ for it used on amazon( its out of print now but contains valuable information I use and use again).
I can take it out for free,,,, and copy some of the pages for any project I am working on ( legally you can do this as long as you are not selling your work) I am assuming that since I can do this with a book on knitting projects , one could do the same with a book on sewing projects also.
Excellent resource
I have a lot of sewing books in my sewing room, but this is a resource I use time and time again. It contains excellent instructions for every type of lining: jacket, skirt, pants, dresses. She tells you how to make the patterns for each type as well, if they're not included. PLUS she has all of her helpful hints and short-cuts that don't show up in pattern instructions.I especially love her instructions for quick lining a skirt with waist faceings. Her techniques for bagging linings for sheath dresses is right on. Love this book, and use it all the time.
A must have for your sewing library!!
I borrowed this book from our public library to get a better look at it and it was great! It has a lot of detail and great illustrations. I am definetly going to purchase this book for my sewing library in the near future.
